Becoming a tutor on Tutorverse is a straightforward process. Once approved, you'll have access to a professional dashboard where you can manage lessons, bookings, earnings, and student communications — all in one place.
Prerequisites
Before you apply, please ensure you have:
- A valid email address (verified on Tutorverse).
- You are at least 18 years old.
- A clear Passport or Government-Issued ID for identity verification.
- Any relevant academic qualifications ready to upload (optional, but recommended).
Step 1: Tell Us About Yourself
From your Account → Profile, click the "Become a Tutor" button. You'll be asked to provide:
- A professional headline (e.g., "Experienced Maths Tutor — NSC & IEB").
- A bio describing your teaching style, experience, and what makes you a great educator.
- A high-quality profile photo.
Step 2: Set Your Subjects
Choose the subjects you'd like to teach and provide a brief description of your expertise for each. The more detail you include, the easier it is for students to find and trust you.
Step 3: Availability and Pricing
Set your recurring weekly availability using the Scheduling tab and configure your hourly rate. You can update these at any time from your dashboard.
Step 4: Verification (Recommended)
You can optionally upload your identification documents to earn the ID Verified badge. While not required to start tutoring, verified tutors appear higher in search results and receive significantly more bookings than unverified profiles. Our vetting team typically reviews submissions within 24–48 hours.
What Happens Next?
Once your profile is set up, your lessons will appear in the Explore section for students to find and book you. You can monitor your bookings, wallet, and student messages directly from your Tutor Dashboard.
